Dr. Magnus Andersson is Associate Professor of Economic Geography and Vice-Dean for doctoral education at Malmö University, Sweden. His work examines the spatial dimensions of sustainable development, with a focus on infrastructure, housing and urban change. Using remote sensing, GIS, and other data-driven methods, he studies how the built environment and infrastructure investment influence socio-economic development and resilience. He has advised governments, cities, and international organizations including UN DESA, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, and the Swedish Transport Administration. Since 2013, he has contributed to the UN’s SDG implementation agenda and served on the UN 10-Member Group for 2025–2026.
